crisis and conscience

As he stood,
With chills rushing through his spine
For a scene, so abhorrent and atrocious,
Laid the stage of his sight..
A stage,
In the embers which blaze,
Shrouded in the ashes like a veil...
Painted with the vermilion of the innocent lives,
The stage, he witnessed,
Appalled with the music of mournful cries..
Holding a safety kit in hand
He gulped,
As the dismayed desperate laments for help
In his ears rise,
With a faith in his conscience,
He fought in him ,
The dread cementing his feet ,
And moved ahead without respite..
For various lives stood in his hands, he sighed.
And strived to succour people in this heinous plight,
Without fright, he moved,
And the thought of a step back he removed,
For in him the people saw the christ in disguise..
