The demons quickly came out of hiding,
They were busy mixing, fixing ice cream—
Said 'twas too hot in hell’s steamy spell.
Now, they want to be entrepreneurs,
Spinning, winning with ice cubes for sale.
Oh, these demons!
Hey, give me some ice,
Make it nice!
You know the manananggal, right?
The one that splits its body, slips into two
Every time there’s a full moon's tune.
Well, one night, half of it craved cotton candy,
So it flew up to the sky to find clouds to try.
The other half wanted bubble gum fun.
Found some on the street,
But 'twas flavorless defeat.
Pretending to hunt for pregnant women,
But when I sniffed the whiff of garlic,
They decided to glide back home.
And that tiyanak—
You’d think 'twas a real crying deal.
I handed it a box of chocolates to coax,
But it refused, saying
It's bad for its toothless youth.
What a picky tiyanak—
Turns out, it’s got no bite!
Then when I gave it another box of treats,
It suddenly turned into a cat that sat.
And then there's the bakunawa,
That mythical serpent
That supposedly slurped seven moons.
Wow, it sure had greed to feed!
No wonder there's only one moon left—
It mistook it for a giant
Nips that slips!
It even went on an eat-all-you-can spree,
'Cause, why not? It’s a buffet shot!
Oh, are you feeling hungry now?
Well, don’t get tempted—
Those treats are covered in monster drool.
Here, have some peanut brittle instead...
Oops, sorry, I might’ve nibbled a little!

it's halloween eve
and it's the day for us to go nuts
for nutty chocolates and candies,
milky smooth chocolates
are stained sweet
like first kisses we crave.
fangs so sharp
but to dive deep into chocolate
on their special day,
candies as soft as a baby's cheeks
for vampires like us,
we crave velvet cake and not blood,
halloween is not for humans
to dress up like us for chocolates
instead, ours to meet our shadows,
and here we are singing songs
for the loved ones who're still
saving our shares of food they eat!
