Brother's Trust
#WritcoPoemPrompt48
Write a poem about a time that your illusions of someone or something were shattered.
Being young we were dumb
Breaking rules and having fun
Thick as theives, we isolated ourselves
I never thought I could be friends without betraying your trust
You see, you are my brother, the eldest of the sixth
There one who should have been protecting instead of being protected from
And I, the second eldest of the six
Felt the danger and the risk
I pushed your limits
Ones I tried to fix
We're both older now, you're out of the house and I can't help but envy you
You were dangerous and did things to only please yourself
You played others emotions
Said it was all fun 'n games
No harm, but I chose not to forgive
But I'll apologize for being selfish in wishing our roles were switched
