The Pleasure Of Insomnia
I pity those who sleep and bind their eyes,
sleeping all their leisure and all their nights.
the hoots of an owl, the chirps of the grasshopper
are overlooked after a tiring day's supper.
the feel of rushing melatonin through my nerves
yet resisting every bit of drowse but wakefulness.
I wonder what joys their dreams bring
that's more profound than an insomniac's writing.
