The Ode of the Violent Voyage
She gazed with fear,
Terrible sounds she could hear.
The sirens wailed,
The ship still sailed.
‘He would protect us’,
The captain shouted to prevent the fuss.
People gathered on the deck,
Her father was hanged by the neck.
The enemies celebrated at their victory,
They jeered at them by doing the king’s mimicry.
A dead man he was,
His soul was somewhere lost.
‘Oh Father! Where did you go?’,
She said with a bow.
She could hear the door knob turn,
She felt her guts churn.
‘Princess Catherine! What should we do?’,
Said her maid, without any clue,
‘Was she a coward?’,
She had to move forward.
Her father had trusted her,
She was his only child and daughter.
Only if her brother had not died,
He would have stopped her from crying.
‘How did it all fall at once from a high sky?’
Now she was going to die.
She had to rise,
But was that thought wise?
She wasn’t sure,
Does regret have any cure?
She could feel the dearth of revenge inside her,
The regret made the revenge stir.
Her father had died because of them,
The murderers were outside, enjoying rum.
‘Gather the forces! Take the swords!’
Said the Princess, moving forward.
The maid bowed in front of the new queen,
The hopes of the queen were supreme.
The forces were gathered, so we’re the arms.
The rivals were alarmed.
Blood splashed everywhere,
The Queen fought without any fear.
A great knight she turned out to be,
Seeing her, many rivals blamed their destiny.
The courage she showed,
In front of her, even victory bowed.
Standing on the deck, she raised her sword,
She proved that she was not a coward.
