A walk on a beach
Both, on your bare feet
So close and within reach
A conversation brief but sweet
Yet to span a million dreams
The sunset set the sky aflame
A myriad of hues to savour
Red, orange and glorious gold
Reflected in your lovely face
An image I'll cherish forever
Hand in hand we walked along
Among soft sands and crashing waves
Accompanied by crabs and gulls
And the silence of the air
We never met again
Nor did we ever speak
But the memory of the sunset
Is as fresh as the morning breeze
And I know should I see the sunset once more
Along with the glorious hues of the day
I shan't let my sun set
And fade into twilight again
