"Returning Home"
#HomecomingPoetry
In the soft glow of the evening light,
I walk the path that feels so right.
Familiar trees with leaves of green,
Whisper secrets of all I've seen.
The gravel crunches beneath my feet,
Each step a heartbeat, strong and sweet.
Memories linger in the air,
A gentle breeze pulls at my hair.
The old front porch, with creaks and sighs,
Holds the laughter, the tears, the ties.
I see the swing where we would play,
Days of sunshine, skies of gray.
The kitchen smells of bread and spice,
Mom’s warm smile, oh, so nice.
Family gathered, stories shared,
In this moment, I feel cared.
The walls are painted with our dreams,
Echoes of laughter, love that beams.
Photos hung of faces dear,
Each frame a story, crystal clear.
The garden blooms with flowers bright,
Colors dancing in the fading light.
I kneel to touch the soft, cool earth,
Feeling again the warmth of worth.
The creek nearby sings a song,
Of days gone past and where we belong.
Nature wraps me in her embrace,
In this sweet, familiar place.
With every corner, every view,
I delve into a world I knew.
The laughter, the lessons, all the tears,
In this home, I conquer fears.
As twilight paints the sky with gold,
I find my heart, I...
In the soft glow of the evening light,
