How do I know you’re worth giving my beaten heart?
You betrayed me, and the funny thing is, I already knew you would from the start.
Yet I stayed with you,
I let myself get lost in this false hope,
All because you reached out to me when I was trying to find myself a rope.
I knew what you were like,
I imagined all the cases where you’d betray me,
But what you did left me wishing that life would just escape me.
You should’ve known better,
How could you hurt me as well?
You shouldn’t have been the one to rival the person who tried to put me through hell.
And you were supposed to understand me,
You saw what he did, so why did you think telling him wouldn’t be something I’d forbid?
Do you not recall,
All the things he did to hurt me?
Did you think doing this wouldn’t count as you trying to desert me?
I don’t even have the strength to get angry,
So just move on to someone else,
Because I don’t think I can handle you giving me another welt.
