Road of Life
#WritcoPoemPrompt8
Every soul that passes the gate,
Has passed a test of fate,
Trudging along on tired feet,
Almost there, refusing to be beat.

Having treaded from miles on end,
Just to see where the road will send,
Through travels that guided through, trials and tribulations they waded through.

The companions they made and the dreams they shared,
For that was the reason they preserved.
Through thick and thin their bonds stand strong,
The road was tough but never felt long.

Now they stand,
Infront of their goal.
Why do they feel that this wasn't right at all?
Like a blind man that has been given sight.
Ah. They said with a sorrowful sigh.

"My Companions,
I found my goal.
But you're not here so it doesn't feel right at all."

Squashing down the pain they carry on. One more step and then they're done.

"Hello!" Someone said, "What took so long?"
