My best friend died a year ago today
though I'm still hurting in so many ways
he was loving and kind and really sweet
touching the lives of the people he'd meet.
A lovely man who was tender and kind
intelligent he was with this amazing mind
I broke and cried when he passed away
I would think about him in a special kinda way.
A wonderful husband & father of three
when he passed away, he just wasn't free
he dealt with Death since he was a boy
stripped of the things that gave him his joy.
So funny he was when he had his wine
when we made love, I called it divine
a lovely man who I claimed as a friend
his pain & suffering would come to an end.
