The Water Grave
A lifeless but beautiful moment;
I watched her sinking into Darkness,
surrounded in the cold.
Her pale skin glistened in the last of her light.
Cold fingers of liquid grasped at her hair
while the density of water slowed her decent.
Skin as white as fresh cotton sheets
And as delicate as chiffon.
I watched.
I gazed.
Her brunette hair flowed around perfect features,
Eyes fixated on mine,
And then finally, her body disappeared from sight.
I close my eyes and savour the moment.
My beautiful love.
My Lilly in the water
No one can hurt you now.
I watched her sinking into Darkness,
