Cough syrups are antibiotics
some taste bitter, some taste sweet as candy....
none of us like its bitter taste and even sweet...
we all pretend as if we're fine when mom
comes with spoon with syrup in it.

have you ever heard a kid commenting on the cough syrup that it's yummy...
have you ever seen a kid with a smile after taken or before the syrup is given to him?
nope... we usually don't see kids who acts obedient when cough syrup is being given to him...

our elders advise, doctors prescribe...
small amount of bitter cough syrup must be given to kids who are attacked by common cold, cough, and running nose.

Kids say, no cough syrup...
but mother's do put big spoon in their mouths...
kids say, it's bitter give me something sweet to chew...
mother puts a spoon of sugar in their mouths...

Cough syrup is not only the enemy of the cough... it's also the enemy of our tongue too...
yet, we are been given to us so that it banishes the cold and flu too...
we children need to understand that cough syrups are for our own good.

we might have heard from our elders...
they say, bitter things always have positive effect on our health.
don't they say this whenever we give an unpleasant comment about medicines that don't taste better....

we have no problem taking pills but we say a big 'NO'to syrups...
the reason is syrups are bitter and they absorb our tongue and spoil the taste.
where as pills are swallowed they directly dissolve in our blood when they go inside our stomach....
