The Rainbow
The color,
The color on my wrist.
Its a rainbow,
Its a wish,
Awash,
And alas,
Alas we'll never be passed.
Its reds,
Blues,
Purples that bleed into one another.
Its the yellows,
Greens,
Oranges,
Begging that we stay somber,
Safer,
Placated.
I beg of you,
I beg of you,
The choice isn't easy.
Life isn't icing and dances.
Its not all sweet and bright.
Sometimes its sour and dull,
Sometimes its dreary and the rain never seems to want to end,
But I promise,
When its done raining,
I promise,
The rainbow will be the most beautiful thing you've ever known.
