Loneliness
#WritcoPoemPrompt67
To pacify a friends' emotionally disturbed heart,
To handle the twists and turns of life,
We have to try to lend a hand and help each other out,
Because living alone is like holding the edge of a knife.

A smile hides all the sorrows throughout the day,
And covers our tears behind a mask,
But when the night arrives and the mask falls down,
A trusted friend is all I ask.

A friend who knows you more than yourself,
In front of whom, the mask is just a see-through fabric,
A friend who can see the scars painted on your soul,
Who can reach your heart through your walls of brick.

Loneliness is like a drug,
We dive deep into it with time,
All we need is a friend who can pull you to the surface,
And who isn't afraid to call you mine.
