Someday I'll see them for myself

Dresses in jackets, gloves and boots
In the snow

The Northern lights
I'll see them in the midnight sky above me, my favourite shade of blue
I'll see the aurora of colors, smiling thinking "this is how I feel inside"
I'll see them and I won't just have to watch them on a screen
I'll feel the coldness on my finger tips, freezing my smile stuck in place
And I think then I'll let go of it all, the worry, the pain and just be
I'll see the moon with all its magic and mystery
The sense of nostalgia will be all over me
The sense that it's not real
The ethereal feel
Wonder and dreams will be free and wild
I'll look up at the stars in the sky, one will be shooting across
And all my wishes will be at the northern lights plea

One day I'll see the northern lights
I once said a gap year after college, I still mean it
You know, the northern lights are mostly blue and green, blues my favourite
I like to think thats toi et moi
I'll travel the world before college,
"Africa is beautiful and diverse
You can see the northern lights from South Africa"

Iceland or Africa first?
Either way
