Mythology Retold
In ancient tales of gods and men,
Where heroes rose and fates were spun,
Mythology retold began,
A timeless journey began.
From Olympus high, they all descend,
Zeus, the thunderous king on high,
With lightning bolts, his power extends,
Ruling the realms beneath the sky.
Athena, wise and fierce in strife,
Goddess of wisdom, valor, and thought,
She guided heroes through their life,
Their battles fought and battles sought.
And Hermes, a fleet of foot was he,
Messenger of gods, with wings to fly,
From realm to realm, across the sea,
He carried words that could not die.
Poseidon, lord of the mighty seas,
With trident raised, his power unleashed,
Waves crashing down with frenzied ease,
His rage and wrath forever creased.
In myth and legend, heroes are born,
Perseus, with Medusa's head he slew,
And Heracles, with strength untorn,
Labors endless, deeds anew.
But let us not forget the myths untold,
Of lesser gods and nymphs so fair,
Their stories, too, their powers bold,
In rivers, forests, and the air.
For in the realm of ancient lore,
The gods and mortals coexist,
Their tales retold forevermore,
In poetry, in the saga, not to resist.
So let us journey through times of old,
Find solace in these tales so grand,
Mythology retold, ever bold,
A treasure trove of dreams firsthand.
