Regret Of A Forgotten Passion
I touched her cheeks with blushes of pink,
Meant to be captured for an eternity, with great love and vivid ink.
.
She has ears, but has never heard her own name,
She has admirers, but unlearned to comprehend the concept of fame.
.
She has both a unique and picturesque smile,
She looks like someone I knew,
Once upon a time.
.
Years could happen upon us, and you'd not look a day older than when our eyes first met,
I could look at you for hours, but now,
A buyer showed me a very pretty cent.
.
Now, hung upon the wall of another,
This dear and precious painting of mine,
I cannot capture the same essence twice,
I've regretted it then.
Now, I no longer care to smile.
