You Broke Me First (Spoken word poetry).
You shouldn't see this before heading out this morning.
Cos I, I tampered with your brakes already.
I told the girls you were no good, cos they warned me, steady, they said.
Was I really the pawn?
All of this high hopes.
Just to bring me down?
Not after all that we shared.
Why did you have to stoop this low?
You pulled the trigger after you vowed you'd shield me against the bullet.
I should've known when I started to feel like the neighbor next door.
I should've known when you never told your friends all you ever felt for me was true.
Never with no shades of blue.
No Tequila shots, nor weeds, for weeks.
I've just been this high.
Wondering, wondering what took you so long, so long to pull the curtains.
I could've sworn, I saw no lines.
Just started to feel like a just Me, never a collective We.
Made me feel like trash and forgot we once wrestled.
Honestly, you stabbed and laid me flat.
So be sure my get back wouldn't be all silky and nice.
