Till death do us apart...
Down at the bookstore
My eyes scanning the aisle
Saw you reading my favourite classic and I couldn't hold back a smile
Slowly grewing closer, we no longer held back out hearts
In a garden full of roses, I spilled out my heart
You smiled and mumbled "Till death do us apart"
"Till death do us apart" I repeated looking at the soft gleam touching your eyes full of stars
The days passed in a blur of heart-shaped haze
But slowly you grew up to stay afar
Lately, with the storms covering up your already mystic gaze
You shouted in your misery, "Let us break apart"
I stood silently watching you disappear in the dark blazing shadows
With a face full of agony and a sickeningly heavy heart
The clock is ticking on the wall with the grief of the graven past
Now your head is on my platter while I sit there on my table with my hands a shade of crimson and a smile that rivals the stars
Arms and legs down the hall
Your body lies in my diner
The axe on the floor peeking up at me like a broken record
Looking straight into your dead eyes, I slowly whisper
Didn't you say my dear, "Till death do us apart"...
