Love deception
In loving deeply, I became blind,
To the cracks forming within my mind.
Trying to mend what was never mine to fix,
Unaware that I, too, was in the mix.

Lost in the quest to heal another's pain,
I neglected the fractures in my own domain.
Piece by piece, I began to break,
Unseen wounds caused by my own mistake.

Guilty of pouring all my love into one,
Forgetting to save some for myself, undone.
In the process of trying to make them whole,
I failed to see how I was losing control.

Now I stand, broken and bruised,
Realizing the love I gave was abused.
Learning the hard truth, painfully clear,
That sometimes, love can be our greatest fear.
