Which include viruses, bacteria, fertilizers, pesticides, and nitrates products from pharmacies, phosphates, plastics, faecal waste and even radioactive substances. These substances do not change the color of water because they are invisible pollutants. In Indonesia, water pollution’s main causes are human activities, domestic activities, agricultural, fisheries, and animal husbandries oil and mining activities. Many regions of Indonesia that have water bodies have experienced one form of water pollution or more. In 2004, in Siak river (Riau province) 66% of inhabitants dumped their domestic waste into Siak river thereby declining species of fish. River status in Indonesia is determined by human activities. This is caused by deforestation in upstream regions.
