Have you ever had a single minute,
Feel like hours?
Hours like weeks, and weeks into years?
This is how time worked when I was with her
I got lost in her smile that was warmer than the sun
I got lost in her laughter that was thick like honey
I got lost in her eyes, that carried me so gently
I was found, in the blooming of her love.
So it was, that I memorized all that was she.
For in my own darkness I did stumble and fall
But I carried her love close to my own
So I could hear her tell me to keep moving.
Loving her, was like loving a fire in the wind.
That first flame was small, but oh how it grew.
I admired all of her colors that had no names
I adored the slow burn that was her spirit
She was not afraid to yell into the abyss
She was, however delicate like a tulip in spring
Time does not make promises it cannot keep
So just as it brought her to me,
It shall also take her away like waves to a shore
Pulling her out to the sea.
But I shall wait, every day should she desire it so
For her to come back and tell me
Just who it was she became,
Because time, gave me her kiss, her trust and her heart
So i will keep it safe, so safe and cherish is so.
Because time with her is exactly what is worth living for.
