A Chicken named Nugget
Puppy love is meant to blind you
So you can't see the other's faults
Charm and phrases lure you in
Causing you to talk about all sorts of weird sin
I don't really think it worked that way for us
We were barely even friends before it became so much
A contractual obligation, a certificate stating yes sir
For a stupid reason too, a chicken named Nugget of all things
It snowballed over time with the calls and the hours
Of ranting about the other the sweet and the sour
Bubbling over until we realised that maybe
It wasn't even about the Nugget who we'd lost thereafter
Things went wrong I think you'd find
I worried a lot you really carved your name into my mind
Coping became more messy and fears became true
I hope you know that I spent every day talking of you
Feelings spilled, a mix of blood, adoration and too many tears
Still watching us after, well nearly, two whole years
Befoew I never noticed how a sea could feel so far
