Time passing like the breeze
A saying, as old as time is
Strangers become familiar
Create little moments, sparks of life
Of joy, of sorrow, of success, of strife
But something more than it? Rare.

They knew it, the feeling was evolving
Whatever that person did, it was charming
Even the little flaws were now
Seeming like decorations studded
On "his" "her" body, gems of every shade
Even a sight, made them gasp "Wow".

While familiarity was erasing their shyness
Suddenly came the unknown darkness
Reminding them of how little they knew
About each other, were they actually
Seeing the other more than friends only?
Lying in the dark, the fear grew.

Until one day when it was shattered
The revelation wasn't strange or weird
Just the feeling the person's gender
Wasn't what they thought, did they even
Ever, in each other, believe in?
Uncertainty felt like a nightmare.

So close they were to each other
Truth so near till it changed like the weather
Distances grew although they were
So close, yet so far, so much to ask
Yet a silence was used as the mask
To hide their care, second felt like a year.

Fallen out were they now, turbulent
Emotions didn't knew what they meant
Till one day they took a step equally
Touched each other with hesitance
Asked, "Was it fake, the romance?"
Both knew, but they stood silently.

Till a drop water came out of their eyes
"You know they weren't just lies"
"I just didn't know what to do"
"I just didn't know what to say"
"I don't want us to go our own way"
And so, the relationship started anew.

Given enough time to ponder
They knew their heart's answer
Hand in hand with each other
To stand the waves of hardships
With just a saying on their lips
"Let's be together forever"
