if my life was a fairytale
then I’d always be rescued by Superman
who’d come and sweep me off my feet
and take me far away to safety
and at the end of the day
my dreams would be filled with happiness,

but when I wake up in this morning
I realized that my life is all but a fairytale
there’s still heartache I still deal with
I’ll never be swept off my feet
by Superman,
for my life isn’t a fairytale
there’ll are still storms
that I go through
and without a doubt
I know I’ll have to be my own superhero
and make my life my own fairytale.
