Faded Past
He does not belong to me...
His heart is not mine, his tears aren't for me, nor is his love
The man I loved was taken from me so long ago
I am stuck with what is left of him...of his soul
Drifting across the sea's to a place I can no longer reach
But still I stay, swimming in the pool of his darkness
He can't help what he has become, so what am I left to do?
The light in his eyes have been expunged, the warmth from his hands have left
The passion in his heart has dried and I am trapped in between the cracks of his disparity
I painfully suffocate without his presence
He comes home again, DRUNK
I can hear his parted footsteps stammering around downstairs
He yells my name with such rage thinking he is alone
"Melanie!!! MELAINE, WHERE ARE YOU!?"
Shaken and broken from the anger in his voice
I come downstairs, each step let's out a terrible streak
As if to warn me to turn back
But I can't, I won't...he calls to me and I must come
There he sits in the chair...
His heart is not mine, his tears aren't for me, nor is his love
The man I loved was taken from me so long ago
I am stuck with what is left of him...of his soul
Drifting across the sea's to a place I can no longer reach
