THE OLD MAN

Entombed in mortal soil,
Time-worn, forgotten,
A casualty of desire.

His journey into
the realms of no redemption,
lined with allurements
for misguided feats.

His tongue—
a river of filth and thorns;
In his heart,
nefarious taughts sink deep.

The old man,
cunning and crafty
like a serpent,
With dread of wrath
lurking over his head.
