In The Cell Block
In the cell block,
alone I stand,
Solitary confinement,
where time stands still,
Steel mesh door,
a barrier to break,
A concrete bed,
where dreams awake.
A steel desk,
where plans are made,
Hours spent in my head,
Sorting through my thoughts.
A few sheets of typing paper
Making note for another day.
Bits and pieces of my life
Living inside this hell.
In this confined space,
I find my light,
Concise and focused,
ready for the fight.
The future is bright,
I can see it clear,
In this cell block,
I have no fear.
