Afterlife
Last words, engraved on a tombstone.
Beyond that, lies a great unknown.
We are dying from the second we are born.
From life, we are torn.
Science contradicts religion, but there is always a truth in a myth.
Afterlife was only added as an afterthought.
There are still things that humans cannot be taught.
Due to the unknown, the unseen.
Things along the in-between.
Everything contains energy,
Electrical impulses control every function.
Where does the energy go after the host is no longer compatible with life?

There are things we cannot imagine.
Only because we haven't seen them.
Every monster is composed from parts of creatures on this earth.
Claws skewed and elongated
Teeth and body exaggerated.
Eyes piercing or cloudy.
We are unable to imagine a new color.
Our eyes do not permit us to see a few.
What we have imagined was already in plain view.
Rainbows only have seven colors.
But past our perception, there may be others.

How are we to know if an afterlife is true?
We haven't seen it.
Lore isn't enough to convince most.
How can one truly believe it?
We have nothing more than stories, of men and beasts.
Many books are derived from old knowledge.
Eons of translations have made them lose their true meanings.
Are we just here pretending?
Pretending that there is a purpose to our existence?
How are we to know what we can't truly see?
