THE REWARD
I thought searching would be hard.
I imagined rock beneath rock,
Where death would seem easier
Than to find the treasure beneath.

Together, I put my tools;
Wondering how sufficient they may be.
The journey, not yet begun,
But being prepared for, for years.

I sought for knowledge
That may aid this expedition.
Reading, learning, preparing
My mind for the battle to come.

This treasure I must find,
Have dedicated this much,
I'd surpass every difficulty
And harvest my reward, someday.
