Threw out old boxes,
Regrets and photographs,
Empty pockets and lockets,
Burned letters and notes,
Erasing memories and even
forgetting your sayings and quotes

Packed away moments and
dreams I had too,
Infact I completely got rid
of everything that reminded me of you,
I had to do this for my own sake,
Because honestly my mental health
and well-being were at stake,
If I held on to one more moment of you,
I am not sure what I would do

I had to pick myself up and dry my tears,
And hope I would get over you in the coming years,
I'll cherish the memories that we had,
But I can not be okay if I am constantly sad,
I hope you found peace and that you are happy in the sky,
I will see you again someday when I die,
Goodbye until then, I hope you agree,
That I had to be strong for you and me.
