The Reality of Being Over
In the end let's just leave it at that.
Even Steven, nothing owed,
past is past.
No more beating it,
time to bury the dead horse.
Nothing to take back.
Nothing left to be said.
No more arguments or fights.
Neither one want the other for love.
Let's part with dignity instead.
Very few happy recollections,
now just resentment and distrust.
Animosity and saddnes is all we now have.
Can't we just part with one good thing?
Can't we just once come to agree?
You only need you,
I only need me.
So it is the end.
Let's just please leave it at that,
knowing it's what's right.
And let's never look back.
