Crunch, smash, thud,
the year that went by
was a series of ups
and downs that made you cry.
You were ready to give in,
currents were just too strong.
But you held onto life,
proved the nay sayers wrong.
You battled karma intense,
you weren't meant to survive.
But a glimmer of hope broke through,
showing promise to make you thrive.
A new year was sliding in,
slowly breaking through the dark.
Could it be what you're waiting for?
Should you reach out to the spark?
It may be everything you deserve,
the spring after winter's cold.
But even if it fails to deliver,
the days of yore made you bold.
So, hold onto hope within,
it brought you this far.
Would you have ever imagined?
Battling, surviving destiny's war.
Make merry on the 31st,
celebrate this year's tougher turfs.
Storms, heat don't scare you now,
you're no more a diamond in the rough.
