There is one thing I understand today.
This is that I don't know anything.
I understand all the things that I have strived to be.
I understand my embarrassment at failure.
I understand the anger towards me by those around me
who thought I was a dreamless paradigm;
still, I gave birth to dreams.
I wrote an extraordinary play,
still, they denied that I wrote it.
I was an exceptional professor;
yet, they denied that I prevailed.
I taught celebrated Hollywood writers how to write;
finally, they denied that I ever existed
