The Dragon Blood Tree
Entangled Roots #25
In the evening of life,
To the fore of one’s sable face,
In an arid terrain land,
as the sun completes the sky’s haze,
He draws strength from a radix carved in place.
There stood a sentinel ancient, in its birthplace.
A brassy, slender stripling peered, standing above
The entangled roots,
deeply planted in the earth’s embrace.
The Dragon Blood Tree,
with its crimson tears,
Holding up an upturned umbrella sucked inside out by the wind,
whispering tales of forgotten years.
Its gnarled stalks span into a dense cluster
of green leaves reaching out to the skies.
Each leaf and each berry
is a witness to the years that rise.
In storms, it swings, yet never cracks or bends,
Much like the spirit of a stripling transcends.
Oh, the tales they could tell of the winds that once blew,
Of warriors and lovers, and storms that they knew.
For in the heart of every turbulent soul,
There lies a reservoir, a boundless whole.
Like,
The Socotra Tree that flourishes in the harshest clime,
He learns to weather seasons, and dance with time.
The scars upon its bark, like the ones on his skin,
well-earned and true,
Reflect battles fought, a vision caught anew.
Each root is a saga, a whispering thread,
Connecting the living, the lost, and the dead.
With every heartbeat, they pulse and they sway,
Awakening memories of long-forgotten days.
A Dragon Blood Tree,
A symbol of blood and sempiternal bold,
Echoes the fire within, his heart and soul.
Both tree and man, resilient against the chafe,
Together they flourish, come what may.
They drank from the rain and held close to the ground,
In a dance of survival, where life can be found.
As he gathered ‘neath its outstretched embrace,
And listen to echoes time cannot erase.
For in the heart of this tree,
both strong and free,
Lies the science of quantum entanglement,
for you and for me.
“More than that, we also rejoice in God through our
Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have now received reconciliation.”
“And the gift is not like the result
of that one man’s sin.
For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation,
but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.”
