Lines of Lies
#WritcoPoemPrompt48

My gaurded wall I let crumble and fall.
Your lies of who you really are came to call.
Addiction is knock knocking at your door.

Baby I love you.
Ignore the door.
You don't need it anymore.

So many lines of lies over time.
You may have fooled some but I told you from day one it can't be done.
I know your kind all to well.

Gaslight.
Deflect.
Call in the flying monkeys!
What a clever selfish addict tatic.

My love wasn't pure enough to want to sniff me in.
My bleeding heart, your addicted veins didn't crave.

There's no competition when your love's high is his addiction.
Only shattered illusions of my own infliction.

Write a poem about a time that your illusions of someone or something were shattered.
