Masking
Random faces roam to distant lands,
Wearing masks to hide their flaws, their hands,
Seeking solace in a world unkind,
Hoping someone gentle they might find.

Imperfections, veiled in the darkest deep,
Yearning for a connection, soul to keep,
Invisible struggles beneath the skin,
Aching for comfort, from within.

In this maze of life, they hope to see,
A glimmer of acceptance, pure and free,
A touch, a smile, a comforting embrace,
To offer them solace, in life's endless chase.

For beneath the masks, we all bear scars,
In search of solace, 'neath the twinkling stars,
Random faces, diverse yet the same,
Longing for kindness, to heal the pain.
