THE NOTE
I saw her gradually wilt before my eyes,
It was as though she literally decayed
Everyone knew her as the girl with the beautiful blue eyes,
But depression ruined her till that very day.

Till the very day she drank the toxic potion,
And bid the world goodbye,
I saw her mutter her last few words,
With tears in her eyes.

She didn't want it to be that way,
But probably life forced her to the wall,
A product of a home with no affection towards her,
The love showed to her "siblings " always left her with a bitter scar.

She tried so much to get to her "parents heart"
But the clause if her being adopted made her a liability,
She was seen as more or less a slave,
And that perception of her shattered sanity.

She endured it for twenty years,
And she actually made it look as though all was well,
But deep down inside was a ripped soul,
And the depth of that I couldn't tell.

.......

I couldn't tell from her radiant smile,
Neither from her beautiful eyes,
A jovial and fun to be with personality,
Only dented by parents who were as cold as ice.

But deep inside, theseed if depression grew,
And blossomed into a suicidal fellow,
Who just wanted to escape life,
And be six feet below.

She was good at hiding it, even to me
I was her best friend,but i still couldn't see
That behind that veil was a depressed soul,
It took a note to reveal it to me in whole.

She was barely alive when I broke into the apartment,
She had left a note for me to explain her action,
She was tired of being an occupant of a depressed existence,
Brought about by her parents inactions.

I cried whilst reading the note,
A note that I went on to tear
Her last words shattered and broke me
They we're "If only my parents did care".
