In the quiet of twilight I sit and ponder,
Between the dreams that beckon and the ties that bind.
To leave to chase the elusive stars of my desire,
Or stay, and cradle the familiar warmth of home.
The weight of expectation heavy on my shoulders,
A burden born of love, of duty, of belonging.
To carve my own path or tread the well-worn trail,
Each step a choice, each choice a sacrifice.
The ache of possibility the sting of regret,
Dancing shadows in the corners of my mind.
To risk the unknown to face the fear of failure,
Or linger in the safety of what I know.
But time, relentless, marches on,
And in its wake, the whispers of what might have been.
To leave, to soar, to dare to reach for more,
Or stay, and watch the embers of ambition fade.
In the end, a choice must be made,
A leap of faith, a leap into the unknown.
To leave, to stay, to embrace the uncertainty,
And in that choice, to find the essence of who I am.
