Elysium

This dirt road leads to nowhere,
But these old bones know the way.
And while Rome couldn't last forever,
This place, it's heaven on earth.
Where the sky goes on forever,
And the rolling hills have much to teach.

You learn that you only get what you put in, mostly.
You learn that luck might save you,
But it can never be counted on.
You learn what to throw away and what to keep.
Most of all, you learn that nothing is ever owned,
Everything is on a path to somewhere else.

Once you truly understand this, you won't try to hold on.
That would be like stopping in a busy intersection,
And all these people have places to be.
But this dirt road leads to nowhere.
