Amen to That
Amen to that:

Thick-skinned
And Rhino like
Sticks and stones
But the words they stuck
Haunting me
Facial palsy
The gift that keeps on giving
Like Baldwin the Leper King
Bold as brass
I found my mask
Never lost to the crowd
Forget me, forget not
Not a chance
Dyslexia my crowning glory
Never diagnosed
The Icing on the cake
A pictorial worldview
Back to the future
My perspective distorted
From the back of the class
Yet my vision fully focused
And unencumbered
Pictures they never lie
The truth I found it fast
That’s no conspiracy
My worldview deciphered in images
The prescience, seen pictorially
A kaleidoscope vision
Clear as day
Look at all the colours
I see through the noise easily
Convention, it passed me by
Conveniently overlooked
But the universe
It had my back
A day one
Conspiring to set me free
Standardised, indoctrinations
They didn’t apply to me
A square peg
In society’s round hole
Water off a duck’s ass
Freedom found in the differences
Rhino Man, the name that stuck
Don’t expect me to comply
I wasn’t born for that
I forged a different path
And I say
Amen to that
