Falling Sun
You see me, I smile. You know, I'm not broken.
You ignore the side of me, words left unspoken.
I'm fed up with trying to help you understand I'm heartbroken.
As the water builds behind the red door that I refuse to open.

Stop knocking, I'm trying to sleep, I'm drawn to darkness.
What is broken can't be mended, for I'm numb and heartless.
I swallowed more than I can take, dont worry you are faultless.

My feet in the sand as tears run down my face.
I see the sun and drawn to chase its warm embrace.
Stumbling in with a drunken gaze
I find peace in the sounds of the waves.

I swim with intent to reach the falling sun.
I grow weary the further I swim, my stroke slows, one by one.

To let the sun set on the ocean, on me, I leave it to all who judges.
As for myself, I find it to be somewhat poetic justice.

For the sun rises and fall.

As does it set on us all.

Lights out and I hear the curtain call.

I doubt I will hear your voice at all, evermore.

No need to mourn, agony gone, nevermore
