Scared and alone
Waking up in the emergency room
There I was
I had overdosed and I didn't know it
To the person who found me
Thank you
Thank you for finding me
Thank you because I couldn't find me
I was so lost
Lost and afraid
Scared and alone
Hurt
I had given up on myself
Here I was trying so hard
yet my hardest wasn't hard enough
Scared and alone
Had a roof over my head but no where to go
a boyfriend who left me
Scared and alone
Family and friends worried
They didn't know where I was
I got the nurse to call my mom
Scared and alone
He told her I was gone
but I came back
Scared and alone
I'll never forget that day
I can see myself above the ambulance
I went out of my body
Wasn't sure why I had to come back
but I'm glad I did because of my kids
They are why I'm here
Thank you God for the woman who found me
behind a vacant building in my car
