Silver Flare
To fly on shimmering wings.
Searching,
Ever searching,
She inspects the valley.
Ready to eliminate any threat.
Back she circles.
Every wing beat leading her home.
A drake like sterling few over head.
In great alarm Calder attacked.
Belching a stream of flames,
Hot enough to melt platinum.
The stranger came crashing down,
In a flare if silver.
Suria watched as her mate in silence.
He made quick work of the smoky heap.
A sudden burst of freezing air bit,
Gnawed,
And chewed at Calder.
Both he and his mate didn't know its source,
At first.
Kenzi lifted his head
And let lose another frosty blast.
He unfolded his wings,
losing his icy breath to keep Calder at bay.
He begins to beat his wings against the air to gain altitude.
Still keeping Calder away with his attacks.
Soon Calder gives up realizing,
Kenzi just wants to leave.
Calder goes to Suria
and leaves him to fly away safely.
