Because I'm writing.

If I'm completely honest,
I also wasn't really
Cleaning my desk before,
Anyway.
I was organising it,
But that's not what I
Should have been doing...

There are 4 unopened letters
From the hospital
Collecting dust.
Once scattered around my room,
They're now stacked in one
Pile on the newly-exposed
Flat desk surface.
I don't know what they say.
I don't think I ever will.

Maybe they're alerting me
Of important information
I should’ve known
Before my last appointment.
Maybe my improv skills
Would've been unnecessary
If I'd just opened them in time.

Maybe they're admitting the
Mistake made
When the nurse referred to my
Recent blood test results.
Telling me about vitamin D
Levels that hadn't been tested
For at least 6 months.

For now,
While the letters remain in an
Unopened state,
I have a pile of Schroedinger's envelopes.
They may and may not contain
Something I need or...
