Helpful to others can backfire
I volunteered my time only to suffer
I did it to show there's love
My heart was with the 1 above
Felt it in spirit to do what's best
Not to be put to a test
Too many people for themselves
I tried to give my help
But it all went wrong
They misused my kindness too long
I know I had to do it
