My smile is a lie most of the time.
My emotions can change at the drop of a dime.

I smile when I am very glad,
Or even when I am extremely sad.

My smile can be very misleading.
It comes about even when I am grieving.

I smile at times it's uncalled for.
I've been doing it lately more and more.

My smile is something I hide behind.
I nicely nod and seem very kind.

I smile to blend in with the crowd.
Sometimes I feel quite proud.

My smile is something I tend not to show.
It can tell a lot about a person don't you know.

I smile because I have to even when I am feeling blue.
I must relate to some of you.

My smile can be very sincere.
But it can also quickly disappear.

I smile to hide all of my pain.
I find myself doing it again and again.

My smile is broken just like me.
I have a positive future everyone will soon see.
