Too many miles
Living in different nations, a solitary plight,
In solitude we dwell, through day and night.
Separated by borders, a world apart,
Loneliness engulfs us, an ache in the heart.
Miles and oceans stretch, an impassable divide,
No familiar faces, nowhere to hide.
Yearning for connection, a friendly face,
But isolation grips us, in this distant place.
The clock ticks on, as we search for a friend,
Lonely hours pass, with no one to comprehend.
Tears stain our pillows, in the still of night,
In this solitude, we face our inner fight.
Living in different nations, far from kin,
Isolation's burden, we carry from within.
In the silence of distance, we strive to survive,
But the loneliness surrounds us, never truly alive.
