Through the Fire
#WritcoPoemChallenge
My life is an open book,
That led me through every nook,
And every corner of discovery,
Of life's long journey

I've watched kind souls die,
seen strong hearts cry.
I've witness liberty mourn in pain.
Men grieve in the California rain.

I've touched an angel covered in snow.
seen the ice dim her glow.
I've heard the voiceless sing out loud;
as their songs moved the clouds.

I've felt love's joy.
I've felt love's pain.
I've seen hate destroy.
I've seen hate maim.

I've seen titans crumble,
the meek rise from the rumble,
authority bend a knee,
to the mighty shout of the weak.

Through this journey,
I've died a thousand times,
fell to pieces,
fading like a dying light.

Through the fire,
I've burned thousands of nights.
through embers and ashes,
I still breathe life.

Through the valley,
on this charred road,
I travel bravely, but weary.
crawling to the finish,
with so many miles to go.
