Shattered Reflections
#WritcoPoemPrompt48
Write a poem about a time that your illusions of someone or something were shattered.
***************************************
Illusions shattered, like fragile glass,
A moment of truth, a painful contrast.
The image I held, now torn apart,
Revealing the flaws, the hidden art.
In the haze of perception, I believed,
But reality struck, and I was deceived.
The mask unveiled, the truth laid bare,
A bittersweet lesson, a burden to bear.
Yet from the fragments, strength emerges,
Wisdom gained as the illusion purges.
For in the shattered pieces, I find,
A chance to grow, to leave behind.
No longer bound by false ideals,
I embrace the truth, wounds slowly heal.
Illusions shattered, a painful plight,
But through the brokenness, I find my light.
